Creative Direction
Vision-Casting & Creative Leadership
Creative direction is not about having the best ideas. It is about creating the conditions where the best ideas survive.
Leading creative teams and vision-casting for campaigns, product launches, and brand experiences. This is the discipline of knowing what good looks like before it exists, and having the taste, experience, and authority to get a team there.
Fractional creative leadership for organizations that need senior-level creative oversight without the overhead of a full-time hire. This includes everything from campaign concepting and art direction to managing external agencies, reviewing creative output, and ensuring brand consistency across every touchpoint.
The difference between creative direction and creative management is conviction. A creative director does not ask what the client wants. They figure out what the client needs and then make the case for it. That requires trust, and trust is built on a track record of being right more often than not.
Creativity is not a department. It is the whole damn building. Anyone can add more. Knowing what to take away takes discipline, experience, and a willingness to argue.

Process
Immersion
Understand the brand, the team, the pipeline, and the politics. Creative problems are usually organizational problems wearing a costume.
Standard
Define what good looks like, in writing. A creative standard the whole team can point to when the work drifts.
Direction
Concepting, art direction, and review cycles. Clear feedback, fast decisions, no design-by-committee.
Elevation
Develop the internal team so the standard survives without me in the room. The goal is capability, not dependency.
Questions
What does "fractional creative director" actually mean?
A set number of days or hours per month of senior creative leadership (concept reviews, team direction, agency oversight) without the salary, equity, and overhead of a full-time CD.
Can you work with our existing agency?
Yes. A large part of the practice is representing the client side: briefing agencies properly, reviewing their output honestly, and making sure you get what you are paying for.
How much time do engagements require?
Most fractional engagements run two to six days per month depending on campaign volume and team size. Intensive launch periods can scale up temporarily.
Fractional and project-based. Mark personally leads every engagement. No hand-off to junior staff after the contract is signed. Most engagements are structured as monthly retainers with a defined review cadence.
Fractional creative leadership starts around $5K per month. Campaign-based and launch-intensive engagements are scoped individually.
